Connection Tripod / Dolly

Respectively at the ends and in the centre, the guide rails have a one-quarter inch (on request three-quarters inch) thread and so are coupeable to every quick-release plate commercially available.

Connection Camera / Dolly

At the top side, there is a three-eights thread screw, where every tripod/video head may be screwed on. The Video head
is not included.

Power

Controller

Controlling is via a microcontroller. The electronic unit is installed completely within the housing. The slider allows for intuitive use thanks to the clearly structured menu. There are two modes of operation: "Move Shoot Move" and continuous (video mode).

The video mode is very slow. I developed this Dolly mainly for time-lapse photography. It is only partially suitable for video recording.

Power

Power is provided by 10 standard AA batteries. An appropriate battery box is included in the kit. The batteries last for 10-12 hours in "Move Shoot Move" mode. I recommend you use eneloop rechargeable batteries.

Maximum Load

The slider may be operated in a horizontal, vertical and overhead way. The maximum camera weight in horizontal operation is approx. 6 kg (13 lbs), in vertical/diagonal function approx. 3,5 kg (7.7 lbs) (including head).

Finally

The Slider offered here has developed from a DIY project. It was my idea to build a compact and light-weight dolly that is easy to carry in a backpack and on journeys. The ‘75 version suits diagonally in a suitcase and thus is ideal for air travels as well.

At present, Pocketslider is still a one-man company. The sliders are built by myself in little series per month. Due to the increased demand longer waiting times cannot be excluded.
